Çayönü Tepesi, located in southeastern Turkey, is a Neolithic settlement that thrived from around 8,630 to 6,800 BC. It is an early example of agriculture and is situated near the Boğazçay and Bestakot rivers. Excavated for 16 seasons between 1964 and 1991, the site covers the periods of Pre-Pottery Neolithic A, Pre-Pottery Neolithic B, and Pottery Neolithic. It is a fascinating historical site that offers insight into the early agricultural practices of the region.
